Back To Kuching Mentel

With KM's help, i was able to pay about almost everything in Melb in CASH! Oh yes, put away those plastic devils 'cos Mommy's got the mooooola! Hehehehe...

And then we're back and of course, with not a single cent in my pocket, i reckon we better start saving again for our future use. And so we came back to this little island called home TRF.

But KM was almost full when we left so few days after we got back, i realised i had to empty her tummy again! Woohooo! :) Am i happy or am i happy...

So i counted and counted and counted... this month's earnings to a total of S$147.50!

That's like the biggest amount ever! Unbelievable.

So rolled back S$7.50 into KM and now my efforts to raise funds is on its way again - with S$140 tucked neatly under my pillow.... ahhhh *dreamy dreamy*

Total Earnings This Month = More Than I Ever Thought Possible!

I emptied my Kuching Mentel today.

Ok before i declare the total savings for this month - i have a confession to make.

I haven't been saving as much as i should've...

My projected sum before i leave for Melbourne is approx. AU$1000+. But because i've been paying for a lot of extra-curricular stuff (like driving etc.), the moolahs' a little dry and a little slow.

But that didn't stop or immobilised my spirit to save for my trip though! Every $2 note in my hands, i go, "Aunty... can change $2 note to 2 sets of $1 coin? Ummm.. If you don't have, 50 cents also can!..." I was determined and finally, today - Friday, 13th March 2009, my total earnings for January / February......

Is a whopping... $142.50 cold hard coins! Bwahahahahaha!!!

So its less than last month's by S$1.50. And yes, i took 2 months to get to this... But it sheer is worth every effort, blood, sweat, tears etc. etc.

So rolling $2.50 in KM's tummy...

With this month's takings, i now have a total of 130 + 130 + 96 + 140 + 140 = S$636

That's roughly, AUD 630. Doing good... :)

Great, in fact. Just great :) *grins grins*

My December Savings On KM!

Is a whopping... $144 cold hard coins! Mwahahaha! More than i did the last 3 months... Impressive :)

As usual, i am rolling the $4 over back into my Mentel's tummy and putting aside the rest for my Melbourne trip. I am sooooo... haaaaaapy! With this month's takings, i now have a total of 130 + 130 + 96 + 140 = $496!

That's roughly, AUD 498. Whoa...

Imagine all the new clothes and the new hats and fur-coats (i do synthetics only..) i can be getting in Australia... :D *blink*blink*blink*

And Again She SCORES!!!!!

I emptied Kuching Mentel yet again today... This will be earnings for October!

A grand total of $132.50. Rounding off that and rolling my $2.50 back into KM, so that's, yet again, $130 for October!!! Making it a GRAND GRAND total of $130 + $130 + $96 = $356 cold hard cash in just 3 months!

That's neat... Uh huh... Really neat :)

Introducing My Kuching Mentel...

Grrrowl!!!

Meebops recently got me a new "kitty" bank to save my loose change (of 1 dollars and 50 cents only) and it has been my best friend since. Apart from drilling into my spendthrift little lifestyle and start SAVING FOR MY FUTURE, it is also a good way to gather and store away some moolahs to use as "shopping spares" in our bid to rule the world with our own little adventures!

Isn't my meebops wise? Why I think she always is!

And so i introduce to you my dearly beloved, Kuching Mentel...

I have emptied my first batch of savings from KM. Yes i have filled it up nice and full! (Check out Mentel's tummy!) And in total, I have saved $95 for the entire month of July, which by my standard is a stark improvement from my absolutely zero savings. And now, i am on my way towards emptying the proceeds from my August savings! Way cool!

That's a small part of my workstation, including what you may find every morning... my dose of morning black, my Starbucks coffee cup, and... My Money!!! Ha ha!

I tell you something interesting... Towards the end of our trip to Cambodia in June, I was feeling quite miserable and down about coming home. Everytime we get a chance to leave or go on our many overseas adventures, i hated the idea of returning and having to get myself adjusted again and again for work, and enduring long painful days of doing the same old bearish routine. I hate to see the same faces at work, i hate having to take the train down to work - the same stale air that i breathe in... I hated it all (well, except the obvious of course...) And even as a Cubbie, i am jaded of the same old tricks and dirty politics.

I wanted something fresh! Something exciting! And something more psychologically stimulating! You know, you get these when you travel - often to different places or countries - something new to you... Something you wish you can take home with you.

But meebops, as always, had a few kind words for me in the effort to live my spirits high.

And meebops said, “Wee must come home to raise funds (TRF) for our next trip Cubbies… Just think of that and it'll make you feel all better...”

What a wonderful thought! Indeed! That really did made me feel all better and smiley; a good enough reason to come home ... To Raise Funds!

So now everytime we go away and cannot find enough reasons to drag us back home, i will always think of meebops' acronym - T.R.F

As destiny puts it, my Kuching Mentel (or Cheeky Cat in Bearish English!) definitely came at the right time and now acting as a financial boon to me, especially during times of need!

Good for keeping money, good for me! ;)
